About Shows

Al Shaqab Breeding & Show, member of Qatar Foundation, closed off their 2010 show campaign with much pride and success for the year’s accomplishments.

The Al Shaqab horses and team collected a total of 21 titles across the Gulf, Europe and United States. Spectacular achievements such as winning World Silver Champion Colt and U.S. Egyptian Event Supreme Male and Female titles were just some of the highlights of 2010.

Mohammed Al Sulaiti, Manager of the Breeding and Show Department, said their achievements were the result of full support and encouragement from the Board of Directors chaired by HE Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Al Thani, and administration led by Director Fahad Saad Al Qahtani.

Sulaiti gave credit to all his team and his advisers Abdulla Al Kuwairi and Ali Abdulla Al Misnad in the Breeding and Show department.

The 2010 year started off with great success in the Middle East/Gulf region show season, beginning with Fadi Al Shaqab (Besson Carol x Abha Myra) capturing Champion Colt honors at the Al Khalediah Arabian Horse Festival in Al Khalediah, K.S.A. However, the highlight of June was Al Shaqab’s domination of the United States Egyptian Event in Lexington, KY. With only four Al Shaqab horse contenders, the team walked away with Farhood Al Shaqab as Champion Junior Stallion and Supreme Champion Male, Negma Al Shaqab as Champion Senior Mare and Supreme Champion Female, Laian Al Shaqab as Reserve Champion Junior Filly, and the 4-6 years old Mares class win by Nouf Al Shaqab.

Late summer incorporated European shows where Dawlah Al Shaqab was honored with Reserve Champion Filly and Aadel Al Shaqab was awarded Bronze Champion Colt at the European Egyptian Event in July. In September, Kahil Al Shaqab was named Silver Champion Colt at the All Nations Cup in Aachen, Germany.
