Al Shaqab Wins Double Gold at HH Emir Endurance Cup

Doha, Qatar - March 21, 2010) Al Shaqab Endurance Team, member of Qatar Foundation, swept the gold medals in the junior and senior races in this past weekend's HH Emir Endurance Cup at Qatar Endurance Village in Mesaieed, Qatar.
In the 120 km Senior race, Atta Mohammed Beer won the gold medal with a total time of 5:21:32 hours on board In Situ. Mohammed Tahous Saif Al Nuaimi came in only four seconds behind to receive the silver medal in the senior race, riding Hidalgo.

(Doha, Qatar -- February 14, 2010) The Al Shaqab Endurance Team, member of Qatar Foundation, had an impressive showing at the HH The Heir Apparent Endurance Cup Saturday in Mesaieed, Qatar. The team took the top six placings in the Junior race and five of the top six in the Senior race.
In the 100 km Junior race, Al Shaqab team member Khalid Faleh Fadgoush Al Subaey captured the win with a total time of 4:32:29 aboard In Situ. Khalid Sanad Ali Al Nuaimi came in second, riding Lasan to a total time of 4:32:57.

Shama Al Shaqab Victorious at Abu Dhabi International Arabian Horse Championship

Shamah Al Shaqab earned a victory in the three-year-old filly class on the first day of the three-day Abu Dhabi International Arabian Horse Championship on Wednesday, February 10.
Owned by Al Shaqab, member of Qatar Foundation, Shamah Al Shaqab is a daughter of three-time World Champion stallion Marwan Al Shaqab and out of the mare SWF Desert Rose. She is now qualified for the Junior Females Championship that will be held on the final day of the show, Friday, February 12.

The Al Shaqab Endurance Team, member of Qatar Foundation, will participate in the HH Heir Apparent Endurance Cup Saturday, February 13, 2010.
The team will compete with an impressive roster of over 20 riders combined in the junior and senior races. Distances for the events are 100km and 120km, respectfully.  The Cup will be held at the Qatar Endurance Village in Mesaieed, Qatar, near Sealine Beach.  Visitors are welcome and attendance is free of charge.

Doha, Qatar (February 10, 2010): The Concept and Vision of Al Shaqab, member of Qatar Foundation, were presented during the Qatar Olympic Sports Museum's two-day seminar "Horse Games - Horse Sports."
Fahad Saad Al Qahtani, Director of Al Shaqab, provided background on Al Shaqab and emphasized the importance of identifying and promoting Qatar's equestrian heritage as a means to preserve Qatari culture. Throughout the presentation, Mr. Al Qahtani stressed Qatar's significant equestrian history and how the equestrian skills and discipline taught at Al Shaqab can help guide future generations of Qataris. He promoted Al Shaqab's mission as a means to preserve and further develop the Arabian breed and equestrian pursuits in the state of Qatar.

Al Shaqab Victorious in Saudi Arabia

Al Shaqab, member of Qatar Foundation, brought home the title of Champion Colt from the Al Khalediah Arabian Horse Festival Show in Al Khalediah, KSA, January 27-29.
Fadi Al Shaqab won his class of 2-year-old colts with an impressive 93.13 points and went on to capture the Champion Colt title over all the highest placing colts in the show. Al Shaqab also had further success with Amir Al Shaqab, winning the 3-year-old colt class.

Al Shaqab Opens Endurance Season

In the inaugural race of the 2009-10 endurance season, the Al Shaqab Endurance Team
had a strong showing amongst the over 85 horses entered in the 80 km Junior and Senior Races in Mesaieed, Qatar, on Nov. 6, 2009.
The top four finishing riders in the Junior race were all Al Shaqab team members. Khalid Sanad Ali Al Nuaimi led the team with his win aboard Lasan with a total time of 3 hours, 22 minutes and 43 seconds.

(Doha, Qatar - Nov. 5, 2009) Al Shaqab's Endurance Team, member of Qatar Foundation, returns to action on Friday, Nov. 6, as the Qatar season gets underway with two events scheduled. This marks the team's first race since returning from a successful European campaign in France this past summer.
The team will compete in both the 80km and 60km races at the Qatar Endurance Village in Mesaieed, Qatar. The pre-ride vet check will start at 1 p.m, and the ride starts at 4 p.m.

Al Shaqab Wins 130km Endurance Race in Compiegne, France
Impressive Fourth Victory of French Campaign

Compiegne, France - The Al Shaqab Endurance Team continued their winning ways in the recent competition in Compiegne, France as rider Faleh Nasser Abugnaim won the 130km event for seven-year-old horses.Abugnaim skillfully guided his mount, Orette de Tanues, to the victory in 6:30.10. Second place went to Virginie Atger of France in 6:35. A total of 55 riders from throughout the Europe began the race the northern French city with 35 contestants completing the course.

Tarbes, France - The Al Shaqab Endurance Team launched their 2009 French riding schedule on August 1 with impressive results from the competition held in Tarbes, located in the south of France near the border with Spain in foothills of the Pyrenees Mountains.
Represented in two events that marked Al Shaqab's first European competition of 2009, the team signaled they are ready for their French campaign. They dominated the CEI* 90KM race by sweeping the top three finishes and were equally impressive in the grueling CEI** 130 KM Qatar Challenge event with a hard-fought second place effort.

Doha, Qatar (June 2, 2009) -- Al Shaqab Endurance Department will be featured on the BBC World News Middle East Business Report this Saturday, June 6.

Al Shaqab Recognizes Emiri Guard Equestrian Unit

Doha, Qatar (April 21, 2009) -- Al Shaqab Riding Academy recognized members of the Emiri Guard Equestrian Unit for completing the Basic Riding and Training Program in a special awards ceremony Tuesday.
The twenty-five honorees successfully completed the course, learning basic horsemanship and riding skills, stable management and horse and rider relationships. The course spanned a 13-week period from Feb. 1 - April 20, 2009, at the Al Shaqab Riding Academy and the Aspire Zone Stables.
"Part of our plan is to continue to develop the riders to be trainers and stable managers for the future when we have our own arenas and equestrian facilities," said Major Hitme Al Hitme, Direct Supervisor of Riding for the Emiri Guard. "We will build off this wonderful experience and continue to coordinate with Al Shaqab in the future. "

Al Shaqab Endurance Team Sweeps All Medals in H.H. Emir Endurance Cup

The Al Shaqab Endurance Team dominated the H.H. Emir Endurance Cup at the Qatar Endurance Village in Mesaeed on Saturday. The team won the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in the Junior and Senior race.
Al Shaqab, member of Qatar Foundation, had 12 of their 19 riders finish in their respective races, which is an incredibly high completion percentage for a team.
In the Senior race, which is 120 km long and had 34 competitors, Al Shaqab rider Mohammed Tahous Saif Al Nuaimi received the Gold medal with a total time of 5:26:01 on his horse In Situ . Just three seconds behind him, Al Shaqab rider Essa Mohammed Al-Sulaiti upon Hidalgo crossed the finish line for the Silver medal. The two riders finished with the same average speed of 22.08 km/h for the entire race. Capturing the Bronze medal for Al Shaqab, Jassim Mohammed Ali Al Meadadi and horse Epson De Labruskaie finished the 120 km in 5:42:42.

Al Shaqab Endurance Team to Compete In Emir's Cup, Saturday, March 21

Doha, Qatar -- The Al Shaqab Endurance Team will enter a total of 19 riders in the prestigious Emir's Cup Endurance Race that will be held Satrday, 21st March at the Qatar Endurance Village in Mesaeed near Sealine.
The Emir's Cup is the highlight of the Qatar Endurance season and entails winning purses of over QR 1,000,000. The Cup will have a 100km race for Junior-age riders and a 120km race for Senior entrants. Al Shaqab will have twelve Senior entrants and seven Junior riders. Al Shaqab's Endurance Team, member of Qatar Foundation, is headed by General Supervisor Owaida Al Hajeri, Manager and Trainer Hadi Nasser Al Ramzani and Assistant Manager Jabr Nasser Al Ramzani.

Marwan Al Shaqab made a triumphant return to his native country to claim the title of Champion Stallion at the Qatar International Arabian Show Tuesday night.  The championship was one of three earned by Al Shaqab, member of Qatar Foundation.Earning the highest score amongst all entries, Marwan Al Shaqab was also named Leading Qatar Horse and Leading Sire of the show.Al Shaqab took away the honor of Champion Filly with Miss El Power JP. Reserve Champion Colt went to Amir Al Shaqab, sired by Gazal Al Shaqab. The Champion Mare was awarded to Venetzia, who won the Qatar International Championship the past two years as a filly and a mare.

World Champion Sire Marwan Al Shaqab Tests Negative for Cerebellar Abiotrophy

Doha, Qatar - In an effort to promote the highest standards for Arabian breeding and assist with ongoing research efforts, officials of Al Shaqab, member of the Qatar Foundation, have tested three-time world champion sire Marwan Al Shaqab for the genetic neurological condition, Cerebellar Abiotrophy (CA).
Results from the University of California, Davis Veterinary Genetics Laboratory were negative and ruled out that Marwan Al Shaqab "possess markers associated with CA."

Qatar Team Wins Silver Medals in 2008 World Endurance Championship

Terengganu, Malaysia - A jubilant Qatar team proudly took to the podium on Sunday as they received medals and a trophy for their second-place team finish in the World Endurance Championship held in Terengganu, Malaysia on Friday and Saturday, November 7 & 8.Despite overnight rain storms and periodic lightning, notthe weather or the 160 kmcourse could stop the Qatar Endurance Team as they posted their best finish ever in the competition with a second behind the winning United Arab Emirates team. The final team times were UAE,27:57:59 and Qatar, 28:47:17. Bahrain took third with a time of  30:54:22 to Portugal's 30:58:52.

Qatar Team Ready for 2008 World Endurance Championships

Doha, Qatar - The Qatar Endurance Riding team is looking to its future as it prepares for the 160 km World Endurance Championship (WEC) to be held on November 7 in Terengganu, Malaysia. After two years of competition to qualify, Qatar will be represented by a rapidly developing group of young riders that features one seasoned veteran, 44-year-old Atta Mohammed Beer. This will be the fifth WEC appearance for Beer, who competed in his first championship in 1998 and finished 15th in the international field in Dubai.

Qatar Team Prepares for 2008 World Endurance Championships
Final Entries Due on Oct. 1 for Championship in Malaysia

25, September, Doha, Qatar - After two years of preparation and competition the Qatar Endurance Team has qualified eight riders for the FEI World Endurance Championship to be held 6th-9th November in Terengganu, Malaysia.Although eight riders have qualified only six riders are allowed to compete. Qatar team officials must trim the list to six and submit the final entries to the sports governing body, Federation Equestre Internationale, by October 1.
The eight riders include: Faleh Nasser Abugnaim, Ali Yousef Al Malki, Abdulla Towaim Al Marri, Hassan Tahous Al Nuaimi, Khalid Sanad Al Nuaimi, Mohammed Tahous Al Nuaimi, Mohammed Sultan Al Suwaidi, and Atta Mohammed Beer.

Marwan Al Shaqab Returns to Arabian Show Ring at All Nations Cup

Doha, 15th, September, 2008 - In the world of Arabian breeding and shows Marwan Al Shaqab has dominated in both the show ring and as a sire of international champions.Owned by Al Shaqab, a member of Qatar Foundation, and managed by Sheikh Hamad Bin Ali Al Thani, the two-time World Champion will now take aim for a third as he competes for the title Senior World Champion Stallion. Marwan Al Shaqab's return to the show ring is scheduled for 26-27, September 2008, at the prestigious All Nations Cup at Aachen, Germany. The competition will be the 8-year-olds first since the 2005 U.S. National Championship. Following the All Nations event, the Qatar born and raised eight-year-old will then compete for the ultimate title, Senior World Champion Stallion. The champion will be named at the World Arabian Horse Championships held at the Salon Du Cheval in Paris, 12-14 December.

Marwan Al Shaqab sons win World Champion and Reserve World Champion Junior Colt

The sons and daughters of Al Shaqab World Champion Stallion Marwan Al Shaqab continue to dominate show rings around the world. At the 2007 World Championships, held at the Salon du Cheval in Paris, Marajj (Marwan Al Shaqab x RGA Kouress) earned World Champion Junior Colt honors. He is owned by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Saud Al Qasimi of Sharjah. Reserve World Champion Junior Colt, Marquis (Marwan Al Shaqab x Rohara Magnifica) represented the Al Khalediah farm of HRH Prince Khaled Bin Sultan Al Saud of Saudi Arabia. Congratulations also to the Michalów Stud of Poland for their Top Ten Victories in Paris with the Gazal Al Shaqab daughters Ejrene and Pistoria.
