Marwan Al Shaqab
Leading Sire of 2009 World Championships
Marwan Al Shaqab, bred and owned by Al Shaqab, member of Qatar Foundation, was awarded the Leading Sire of the 2009 Arabian Horse World Championships at the Salon du Cheval in Paris, France, December 4-6.
As the Leading Sire, Marwan Al Shaqab's offspring collectively placed higher in their classes and championships. Marwan Al Shaqab was represented by Najdah Al Zobair, World Champion Junior Female and Abha Qatar, World Champion Junior Male. In winning her championship, Najdah Al Zobair was the unanimous choice amongst the judges in the finals of Junior Female.
Marwan Al Shaqab is the only three-time World Champion Stallion in the Arabian breed, capturing his third world title last year in Paris. In March of 2009, he retired from showing to stud after winning the Qatar International Champion Senior Stallion title.
