The 4th Annual Arabian Breeders World Cup was held April 15-18, at the South Point Hotel. It serves as one of the premier purebred Arabian horse shows in the world and features an international roster of competitors. The event unites breeders from around the world and showcases the natural beauty, nobility, excitement and unique characteristics of the Arabian horse breed.

The Arabian Breeders World Cup is separated into breeding classes and is judged in the European style using the European Scoring System. This system is used to judge prestigious shows such as the All Nation's Cup in Aachen, Germany and the World Championships at the Salon du Cheval in Paris, France. The European style of showing emphasizes a more natural way of preparing, presenting, and showing the horses to display their true Arabian spirit.
The show features five International judges with a mix of the best from America, Australia, Europe, South America and the Arab world with the goal of achieving the highest possible judging standards.

His Highness, The Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani founded Al Shaqab in 1992 to preserve and further develop the Arabian horse in Qatar.
