Qatar became the cornerstone of a renaissance of Arabian horse breeding under the guidance of the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, who recognizes that these priceless horses represent centuries of Arab history and culture.
Since 1992, Al Shaqab has been acknowledged as a world class establishment for breeding and showing purebred Arabian horses. The goal of the program has remained steadfast since its inception - to produce beautiful and athletic horses that exemplify the nobility which characterizes the Arabian breed. This dedication to excellence is reflected in the global influence of Al Shaqab, including its three World Champion stallions born in Qatar: Gazal Al Shaqab; Al Adeed al Shaqab; and Marwan Al Shaqab.
Now a member of the Qatar Foundation, Al Shaqab is undergoing significant expansion, yet remains true to its origins as the pioneering breeding farm of His Highness, the Emir.
