
Tony Terry brings to Al Shaqab extensive experience in all areas of communication, marketing and media relations, having provided those services most recently for Churchill Downs, Louisville, Kentucky, USA, home of the world famous Kentucky Derby.
For the past 20 years, Tony has established an impressive record of success in building and maintaining relationships with a wide range of clients, including media, business and community leaders, royalty and celebrities, industry athletes, and managers and executives. His hands-on experience with horses - beginning as a young boy when he accompanied his grandfather to the horse races - provides an additional level of understanding important to the success of Al Shaqab endeavors.
Tony studied communications at Western Kentucky University and launched his career in promotional work at a Standardbred racetrack, moving to Churchill Downs in the 1980's.
He was Director of Publicity and Media Relations for 15 years and served the industry as Vice President of Turf Publicists of America and was awarded the 2002 Ambassador of Racing by the Kentucky Thoroughbred Media Group.
As Communications and Marketing Manager for Al Shaqab, Tony provides leadership and strategic planning for communication, marketing and public relations activities on a global level, and particularly throughout the international equine community. He considers it a privilege to be involved in the renaissance of Al Shaqab as it maintains its premiere position in the world of Arabian horses and defines its role as a leader in world-class equestrian sports.
