Lynne Woods

Lynne Woods has a truly international background in the equine industry.  Her lifelong relationship with horses began at age 6 at the Royal Bangkok Riding and Polo Club where she ultimately achieved an "A" rating in International Pony Club.

Following college, Lynne returned to the equestrian world working in various venues. She was part of the Delp Racing Stable during the time that Spectacular Bid made his famous attempt at the Triple Crown.  Involving herself, once again, in the FEI disciplines, teaching opportunities took Lynne around the USA and Europe.

In 1984, under the recommendation of the USEF, Lynne was chosen, from candidates representing over 20 nations, to receive a berth at the world renowned Ecole Nationale d'Equitation in Saumur, France.  There she qualified for her International Trainer License.  Not long after starting her own training and competition stable in the USA, Lynne was hired as the personal equestrian manager for one of the Forbes 500 International Billionaires.  She remained in this position for nearly ten years, until she took over as the Equestrian Director at the Butler School in Darnestown, Maryland. 

Lynne has experience not only in competitive realms of the horse world but as a businesswoman as well.  She has an extensive background in program and curriculum development, budgeting, marketing and other business functions.  Lynne is dedicated to the ongoing development of programs at Al Shaqab as it grows into a truly world-class equestrian center.
