Wejdan Al Malki
Wejdan holds the honor as the first female athlete to serve on the Qatar National Equestrian Team as she competed as a member of the Dressage Team in the 2006 Asian Games held in Doha.
With a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the American University of Cairo, and a Master's of Science degree in Marine Environmental Protection from the University of Wales, Wejdan's equestrian experience and educational background are a great asset in her role as Deputy Director.
A rider and competitor in equestrian sports since the age of four, Wejdan competed in her first international jumping competition at 14. She further developed her equine skills at 17 as she owned and trained her own Thoroughbred, from ground work to finished jumper. She has served as manager and head instructor at her family's private farm and riding school near Doha, and trained under some of the world's finest instructors in Ireland, Germany, France, England, Belgium and the Netherlands.
As Deputy Director at Al Shaqab, Wejdan is dedicated to achieving Al Shaqab's vision of becoming a premier educational hub in the region. Her experience, education and equestrian talent combine to make her ideally qualified to help this vision become reality.
