Al Shaqab’s Endurance Department was created to further promote Qatar’s equestrian heritage, and to raise and nurture the next generation of riders in the nation’s rich equine legacy.
Endurance riding has always been popular in the Arabian region and is one of the fastest-growing equestrian sports worldwide, consisting of long-distance races of up to 160 kilometers.
Since its inception, the Al Shaqab endurance riding team has risen to become one of the world’s top competitors in the sport.
The Al Shaqab Endurance Team has achieved notable victories and successful achievements in competitions at a local, regional, and international level.
Horses and riders of Al Shaqab’s endurance team participated in 18 international races

Three riders and horses from the Endurance Department of Al Shaqab, member of Qatar Foundation, delivered a sterling performance at the prestigious Endurance Equestre Monpazier event recently held in France.
The Al Shaqab team stamped its authority in the CEI2* 120 Km National Day Cup competition over the weekend at Messaied by taking the 3 positions on the podium. With 14 riders out of 57 who participated in the competition, the Al Shaqab team proved too much for the rest of the field as it captured 7 of the top 10 placings.
AL SHAQAB Endurance Team will be at the Messaied Endurance Village this Saturday, 9th December, to participate in the National Day Endurance Cup CEI2* 120 Km competition. The competition promises to be a thrilling feature of the Qatar Equestrian and Modern Pentathlon Federation’s calendar as it also serves as a qualifier for the Qatar National Team that will participate in the World Equestrian Games 2018, in Tryon, USA.
