    His Highness The Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani established Al Shaqab in 1992 to enjoy his passion for Arabian horses, to honor the courageous war horses ridden by victorious Qatari knights of the past, and to assure the Arabian horse would continue to play a leading role in the cultural heritage of the Qatari people.

The festival, held from the 1st to the 11th of February, showcased the unparalleled beauty and elegance of these majestic creatures through two prestigious horse shows.

The highlights of the festival included two shows: Title Show & Arabian Peninsula Horse Show.

Al Shaqab, one of the leading participants in the Katara International Arabian Horse Festival (KIAHF) 2024, proudly presented its exceptional lineup of Arabian horses, showcasing the pinnacle of excellence in the breed. The esteemed institution's commitment to breeding and showcasing top-quality Arabian horses was evident in their remarkable show results.

Here are the outstanding achievements of Al Shaqab's horses at KIAHF 2024

Kiahf Title Show (1st – 5th February):

- Afreen Al Shaqab, sired by D Mezyan and out of Siwar Al Shaqab, achieved 1st place in Class 4A for Yearling Colts and earned the title of Gold Champion Yearling Colt.

- Mushwash Al Shaqab, son of Haash OSB and Shaikha Al Shaqab, secured 2nd position in Class 4A among Yearling Colts and attained the title of Bronze Champion Yearling Colt.

- Teha Al Shaqab, daughter of Marwan Al Shaqab and Marbella PCF, placed 2nd in Class 1B for Yearling Fillies and earned the distinction of Bronze Champion Yearling Filly.

- Shahalel Al Shaqab, offspring of Namous Al Shahania and Siwar Al Shaqab, claimed 1st position in Class 2B for Junior Fillies and was awarded the prestigious title of Gold Champion Junior Filly.

Arabian Peninsula Horse Show (8th – 11th February):

Brooq Al Shaqab, daughter of Shagran Al Nasser and Laian Al Shaqab, excelled by securing 1st place in Class 1B for Yearling Fillies, ultimately achieving the esteemed title of Gold Champion Yearling Filly.

Al Shaqab's horses not only excelled in their respective classes but also captured the hearts of spectators with their grace, beauty, and impeccable breeding. Their remarkable performance underscores Al Shaqab's unwavering dedication to preserving and promoting the Arabian horse breed's heritage and excellence.
